Today for the first time I made french toast!! After looking through a few different recipes I ended up deciding on this one and went from there.

For a first time try it was pretty tasty! My mom used to make us french toast when we were kids so I am happy to have tried it today!

Two different kinds of bread were used for this recipe- White bread (found at any grocery store) and Egg Raisin bread found at my neighborhood grocery store.

The egg mixture looked a tad thick so a 1/4 cup of milk was added here.

Can’t forget about the bacon!!

You’ll want to add a little bit of powdered sugar to the bread before frying it so that it can get a little toasty and caramelized!

Here’s the happy little family- french toasting with a side of eggs and bacon!

Made this recipe this morning with a few differences. I used orange extract instead of vanilla and omitted the nutmeg. It was delicious! The vanilla and nutmeg would be delicious on some raisin bread though. Maybe next weekend! 🙂

That’s awesome! Orange extract is a good idea. I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
